We are looking for an IAM DevOps Engineer (NAM/Okta) with strong consultancy skills and competencies. The candidate will be part of an Agile team responsible for the design, development, configuration, and operation of the IAM Access Management (AM) landscape, which includes applications such as Okta and NetIQ Access Manager (legacy). Topics like Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication, and Provisioning are well known to the candidate. Providing stakeholders with the best possible support and advice while developing and maintaining a secure authentication environment is essential for this role.

The AM DevOps Engineer Okta works closely with the AM Product Owner, Scrum Master, AM Product Architect, and all other members of the IAM DevOps teams within the Agile Release Train for IAM.

Main responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the NetIQ NAM legacy system (on-prem) and Okta cloud solutions.

  • Automating and improving administrative access using Terraform.

  • Connecting applications to Okta using techniques such as SAML, OpenID Connect, and SCIM.

  • Supporting the product architect by refining and implementing enablers for features on the product backlog.

  • Actively participating in scrum events.

  • Supporting the Product Owner in realizing designed capabilities and functionalities according to specifications.

Stakeholder management:

  • Ensuring timely and clear communication, sharing information and knowledge.

  • Sharing responsibility and leveraging the expertise of others.

Requested Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Identity & Access Management (or a strong willingness to learn in this area if experience is less).

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with AM tooling.

  • Experience with REST APIs and modern protocols such as SCIM, OAuth, and OIDC.

  • Knowledge of Terraform, Jenkins (CI/CD), Apache, Tomcat, Java, and reverse proxy setup.

  • Linux knowledge is a plus.

  • Familiarity with handling application migrations and onboardings for AM.

  • Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and access management processes.

  • Experience working in an Agile scrum team.

  • Solid understanding of security technologies, best practices, and security policy frameworks.

Education and Certifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field. Security knowledge is highly preferred.

  • Okta Certified Administrator certification.

  • Agile and SAFe certifications are a plus (scrum.org and/or SAFe certifications).
